#RRBC We’re “CELEBRATING POETRY AS LOVE” Blog Tour!

BOOK TRAILER

~~~~~
Hi, and welcome to the “CELEBRATING POETRY AS LOVE” Blog Tour, in celebration of INTERNATIONAL POETRY MONTH!  Poetry, in case you haven’t noticed, is a struggling genre at this time.  I’m not meeting many folks who are moved by this (sometimes) sexy, (at times), harsh reality of words, but, there are those of us who continue to love, appreciate and write from this genre, which springs forth so many different emotions unlike any other.
In February, 2015, I co-authored my first poetry book,  “IF ONLY THERE WAS MUSIC…” The Poetry of Forbidden Love.  Here is a bit of the book’s introduction below:
“Ever read poetry that was so soothing, so mellow, and just so perfectly sweet, you felt it should have been a love song?  “IF ONLY THERE WAS MUSIC…” is just that kind of poetry…but it’s also poetry written about forbidden love.
Back in the summer of 2014, I was approached by an up-and-coming author by the name of Giani Jordan.  Giani said that he had been following my writing for over a year and was extremely impressed.  He was reaching out to me because he wanted to collaborate on a poetry book.  Well, since I didn’t know Giani and wouldn’t attach my name or my writing with just anyone, I asked if he would send me a few samples of his work, and he did.  I was blown away by the intensity and the depth of this man’s writing, and wanted to know more about this person he clearly was in love with and was writing so fervently about.”
In summation, Giani was in love with a woman {Christine}, who belonged to another, and to make this situation even more complicated, he, himself was also involved in a relationship.
So, he is the Poet and she is his Muse, yet, she is not a writer.  He wanted to find just the right person who would be able to put into words her feelings, her point of view, in comparison to his.  He felt that I was up to the task.  The poetry that you find along each stop of this tour, are the feelings of two lovers, distant lovers, lovers who long to hold each other’s hands, to gaze into each other’s eyes, to merely breathe each other’s air.  You will feel their longing, their frustrations, their desperation, but most of all, you will feel their superior love.
It is my sincere hope that along this tour, I will re-awaken in those, emotions felt in the past, feelings long forgotten, and old loves remembered.  It is also my sincere desire, to introduce those who have never been interested in, or moved by the poetic written word, to something new, something fresh, something beautiful.  I want you to get acquainted with these love songs without music…compiled in this one beautiful book.  Move around in it…wrap yourself in it, fall in love with it…and if you feel it ever so strongly, I ask that you share it.
Guests, I give to you a little taste, mere snippets, of what it feels like to be in love with someone you can’t touch, someone you can’t see, someone you can’t have…yet, someone you love so completely.  I will share these exquisite feelings thru her eyes and then his.  Enjoy.
*****
Thru Her Eyes…
“HE HURTS ME SO GOOD”
We fight…we make up, I cry, then he takes back his lies of love.
What is this roller-coaster?
What is this love I feel for him?
I don’t know, but he hurts me so good.
We’re so close, we’re as one, then we don’t connect at all
I sit by the phone waiting for a call,
That may never come.
What is it that keeps me hanging on?
I don’t know, but he hurts me so good…
*****
Thru His Eyes…
“IN EVERY WAY THAT COUNTS”
You are the center of my Universe
The object of my Obsession;
In my dreams, you are my wife…in every way that counts.
I imagine our wedding night;
I tremble, slowly disrobing my Goddess
Until I know her perfections, in every way that counts.
Her skin, so soft and succulent
Begging to be touched, kissed and caressed with reverence
Perfection in every way that counts…
    • I thought it might be, John, seeing as though I’m an old married lady, and not to Giani! LOL. By the way, my hubby enjoyed every bit of my work on this project!
    Congratulations Nonnie on your tour. I love the trailer because it resonates the feelings in the poems. I am impressed with the fact that someone sought you out for a collaboration. That says a lot about you and your work. You are the best and without you there would be no Rave Reviews Book Club. Good luck on the tour. Love you much.
