It’s #RRBC’s 1st Day of the May, RRBC’s “PAY IT FORWARD” WEEK!

…and I’m lucky to have someone who has never visited here before…Author, Stevie Turner!

A House Without Windows plus award

{BOOK TRAILER FOR “A HOUSE WITHOUT WINDOWS!”}

I’m sure you can sense my enthusiasm about Stevie’s stop here today, but it’s only because I think she is a PHENOMENAL writer and author! (You all know just how much I love those).  Although she has authored a few books, the one that I have read so far and LOVED, is “A House Without Windows.”  This book was so good, I gave it 5* stars easy and, it also earned my “SEAL OF APPROVAL!”  If you read it, you will create your own award to attach to it, as well!

I’m so anxious to introduce this book to you, that instead of sending you over to the Nonnie’s “Rave” Reviews page, I’m bringing it right to you here.  Ladies and Gents, my review of this wonderfully told tale:

“I must take a deep breath before I begin this review.  I will share with you why, I must take this pause.  Only a couple of days ago I finished reading another book  and it was awesome.  Straight off the heels of that read, I pick this one up and I didn’t put it down until I’d completed the entire read!  This book, “A HOUSE WITHOUT WINDOWS,” has been on my TBR list for a very long time.  Now, I have to honestly say, I hate it took me so long to get to it.  Authors come to me for reviews because they know that they will get only honest ones.  That’s evident, because every book you see sitting in my que, does not make it onto this page.  Some don’t even make it onto Amazon, as the review I might give, would hurt them so much more than me not posting a review at all.  So, I don’t know what you’ve heard before, but let me tell you the “truth” about “A HOUSE WITHOUT WINDOWS.”

When I began this read, the first thought that came to mind was the Ariel Castro kidnappings.  As I watched that horrid story unfold back in early 2013, I felt the same tightening in my chest with every page turned in this book.  It was unreal!  This story about a kidnapped young woman and her daughter (who she gave birth to while in this captivity), who were held hostage for almost a decade, in a tiny room without any windows or sight of the outside world,  was beautifully crafted and so well-told.

While driving, I found myself “still” thinking about this book, wondering how a writer could tell such a tale, in the most marvelous of ways, without having experienced the actual pain.  Readers have asked me the same question about my own novel, DAYDREAM’S DAUGHTER, NIGHTMARE’S FRIEND,” wondering if any of it were true.  My novel is all fiction, and if this one is, too, Stevie Turner is a writer for the ages!  To be able to create a story of this magnitude, the author has to be  extremely gifted and talented!  This author is!

Someone asked me what I found wrong with the book, if anything.  Well, I did come across a couple of punctuation hiccups that were so small, I don’t feel the need to share it while raving about this FAN-TAB-U-LOUS BOOK!  And RAVING about it, is what I plan to do for a very long time!  RRBC members often email me and ask, “Nonnie, what’s a good book to read?” I always respond with, “Any that are sitting on NONNIE’S “RAVE” REVIEWS page.”  Isn’t that where this one is sitting? Well, I guess you better go get the book so you can RAVE about it yourself!  Books like this make me want to read nothing but INDIE books all the time! Kudos to this author!”

So, there you have it, folks!  The #1 reason you want to run out and get your copy of “A HOUSE WITHOUT WINDOWS” today, is because I LOVED IT, and I’m a hard cookie to please when it comes to the written word!  This book really is too good of a read for you to pass up!

Here’s more about the author in her own words:

“I began my writing career as far back as 1969, when I won an inter-schools’ writing competition after submitting a well-thumbed and hastily scribbled essay entitled ‘My Pet’. A love of words and writing short stories and poems has carried on all throughout my life, but it is only now in middle age that I’m starting to take this writing business seriously. I have recently published my seventh novel ‘A Rather Unusual Romance’. My novels tend to shy away from the mainstream somewhat and focus on the darker side of relationships, but you’ll find I do like to add in a little bit of humor along the way! So, here I am in the late summer of my life, and the words are tumbling out of my head. Living for more than a few years has given me plenty of experiences to write about, and I look forward to sharing quite a lot of them with you. I’m proud to announce that as of late 2014,A House Without Windows” has earned a 5-star Seal of Approval from Nonnie Jules‘ of Rave Reviews Book Club, and also the Readers’ Favorite 5 star seal, and flits constantly in and out of the Amazon UK and US top 100 Kindle ebooks (paid) in the Fiction/Crime/Kidnapping sections. In January, 2015, it won the Goodreads’ eBookMiner Book of the Month Competition.”

    I think one of the reasons our TBR lists are long is that we will never skimp on a book. Every word gets careful attention, and with everything else that has to be done, that takes time. The upside for the author being reviewed is that the reviews tend to be well-informed and carry weight. I’m sure You’ve made Stevie’s day, Nonnie, with your infectious enthusiasm for her work!

  9. Stevie, your book covers are very interesting, as well as the titles. I’ll have to check some of them out. I like that you don’t write fluffy romance, as I do not either. Enjoy your PIF support from Nonnie. She’s definitely the cream of the crop of supporters:)
